Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

 

1.
What do I need to do to apply to the MECOP/CECOP program?
 
First of all, look at the screening questions. If you are qualified and would like to apply, click here to go to the application process.

I need help for my answers to the questions on the application, whom can I talk to?
 
Consult your MECOP/CECOP academic advisor. A list of academic advisors can be found here.
 
3.
Am I a transfer student in the application?
 
For MECOP/CECOP, you are a transfer student if you are currently enrolled in a school and will be transferring credits to OSU or PSU or OIT. You are not considered a transfer student if you already transferred the credits to your current school.

What do I do when I finish filling out the on-line application form?
 
  • Click "View, Save and Print Application" button first, the program will generate a PDF file containing your information (read question #5 if you want to make a change at this step).
  • Print two copies of your pdf file.
  • Submit the on-line application by clicking the "Submit Application to MECOP" button.
  • Deliver or mail two paper copies of your printed PDF applcation and unofficial transcripts, and one copy of the signed agreements, and , to the MECOP office (click here to see address on the Application Instructions page*).

I clicked "View, Save and Print Application", I see my information in pdf format. Can I make any changes on my information?
 
Yes, if you haven't clicked the "Submit Application to MECOP" button yet. When you click "View, Save and Print Application" button, the system will display your information in a pdf file. At this point, you can still make a change by editing the contents in the application form, then click the "View, Save and Print Application" button again to reflect those changes.

Once I click the "Submit Application to MECOP" button, can I make a change or resubmit my application online before the deadline?
 
No. It will cause an error and delay your application process. Only your contact information can be updated after submitting your application. If you want to update your contact information, please contact the MECOP office at (541) 737-9595 or mecop@engr.oregonstate.edu.
 
7.
I am done with the on-line application, what else do I need to do?
 
Besides submitting your application on line, you still need to deliver or mail the following materials to the address listed on the Application Instructions page.
 
  • Two paper copies of your PDF application printed from the MECOP website.
  • One copy of the agreement forms with your original signatures.
  • Two copies of your college transcripts (may be unofficial).
 
8.
I have experienced an error when trying to submit my application. What do I do?
 
Send an email explaining the problem to kyoungcheol.kim@oregonstate.edu including your name and student ID. Please submit your application early, do not wait until the very last days.
